Letter 77

Letter 77
                                                                      August 15, 1918

Good Morning Violet,

Well, everything is ready for us to leave.  Last night I went and saw David.  He took us into the kitchen and opened a can of pineapple.  There were three of us and we surely enjoyed it.  Then he turned around and gave us each a can of jam, such is life in the army.

Well dear, we are going to leave for the Port of Embarcation where we will be loaded onto the transport.  Do not worry about me, dear, for I know God will be near me.  Just keep writing to the last address.  It may be two or three weeks before I can write to you again.  Be cheerful for my love it still burning.

                                                            Your Sweetheart,   Henry
