Letter # 56
July 13, 1918
My Sweetheart Henry,
July 13, 1918
My Sweetheart Henry,
Good evening once more. I have been to S.L. today, met Ede and was with her some time. She said Fran was going next Tuesday the 16th to the presidio. Ralph has been excited for the navy. Met Esther and we all, Hazel, Esther and I, went to Paramount. Saw Bill Foxely in town today. He knew me.
Received letter and picture of sweetest and best looking soldier ever today. Made me oh so happy to get your message. Went down to your home tonight. All well. Heard we had another soldier on their street. Olive Wadoupps has had the 9 lb. boy. Papa received letter from Henry Naylor today, he is fine. 140th band is called back, but will be here Tuesday. John Ellis wanted to be remembered. Well, can’t write much for I’d have a volume when I can send it, but must let my heart pour out something. I’m happy, for I’m living my religion for you and the future.
Yours forever,
Violet
